Bornholms Teater collaborates with local associations, institutions, and artists on Bornholm. We work purposefully to engage a diverse audience and to nurture partnerships that make theatre accessible to everyone.

In our strategy for the years 2025–2028, we have two main focus areas:

Under the headline Bornholms Solskinsteater (Bornholm’s Sunshine Theatre), we produce a performance every summer in our mobile theatre that tours the island of Bornholm: at village halls, harbors and squares, libraries, and other places where the people of Bornholm live and gather—always in collaboration with local organizations and/or population.

Under the headline lysOP (lightsUP), we work to ensure that all children and young people on Bornholm experience performing arts at least once a year. lysOP is an effort that not only ensures access to performing arts, but also strengthens the quality of the encounter. The goal is to reestablish the theatrical food chain necessary for the performing arts to continue to bring joy and benefit to future generations.

Bornholms Teater is based in the historic Rønne Theater (Rønne Theatre) from 1823, and is part of an active and close collaboration with Rønne Theater, Teaterforeningen Bornholm (The Theatre Association Bornholm), amateur ensembles, and Bornholms Dramaskole (Bornholm’s Drama School), among others, to present a rich and varied selection of performances, theatre education, and other cultural activities to the people of Bornholm.
